Architect Alain Marullaz

Both our custom built luxury ski chalets were designed by local architect Alain Marullaz.

We got to know Alain in 2002 when on a summer trip to Morzine we discovered Chalet Le Crepet for sale. We arranged for Alain to carry out a survey and that gave us the confidence to go ahead with the purchase. Immediately we went to work designing the renovation to extend and convert this traditional alpine chalet into a modern boutique ski lodge.  After our first season we emptied the chalet of its contents and commenced construction work. By late December 2004 as the snow settled around the chalet we completed the final touches and opened for business.

Not content however, we soon approached Alain again with a blank piece of paper and asked him to design our vision of the perfect luxury ski chalet, La Ferme D’Elise was conceived, a building that will literally stop you in your tracks, a beautiful combination of burnt wood and glass. In December 2007 the chalet was completed and welcomed her very appreciative guests.

Two years later we decided the time was right to complete the Freedom Ski ‘jigsaw’ and commissioned Alain to design the final phase ‘aggrandisement’ to Chalet Le Crepet to bring both our chalets into line. This stunning chalet with beautiful balconies, floor to ceiling windows and spectacular views was finally completed ready for the 2011 winter season.

If you want to talk to Alain you will find his office located close to the centre of the Morzine on the Route de Telepherique. I don’t think Alain is taking on too much work anymore but if you call in his office and find that he’s not away visiting his grandchildren then you might be able to persuade him to do just one more project.
